Don’t be a gaper. To ensure a seamless fit between your helmet and goggles, I recommend selecting the same brand for both. *Surprise surprise* manufacturers design their goggles and helmets to fit perfectly together, reducing gaps and preventing goggle fog.

Smith does this especially well and as the leader in both goggle and helmet technology, they are my top pick for headgear.

Helmet: Smith Women’s Vantage

  • Why I like it:
Lightweight, MIPS technology (this is an important feature in preventing head injuries), top vents to cool off or bundle up depending on the weather, adjustable internal frame for a customized fit, fuzzy ear flaps to keep you warm, and compatible with Smith Audio Chips to pump up the jams or take calls from the chairlift for the hustlers out there.

  • Sizing tips:
My head measures to a 56 and I went with a women’s size medium. Fits like a glove.

Goggles: Smith I/O MAG ChromaPop

  • Why I like it:
Once you go mag you never go back. Lens changes are seamless with the magnet system in these goggles. Click 2 buttons and your lenses pop out to easily adjust to changing light conditions. The frameless look adds extra drip and the ChromaPop technology gives you a high def view so you don’t miss a single bump or line as you shred.

  • Lens tips:

I picked the Rose Gold / Rock Salt color as it is a great everyday lens for both sun and clouds. Living in Colorado the weather can turn on a dime so I wanted a versatile lens that would work in varying situations. This set also comes with a storm lens for low light or snowy days when visibility is minimal. Pro tip: to prevent fog while wearing a face mask, tuck the nose of the mask under your goggle foam. This will hold it in place and force the air out the sides of your mask instead of up into your goggles as you exhale.
