winter skin smoother than fresh corduroy

There’s nothing worse than dry, flaky skin - these are my favorite products for keeping skin smooth and soft all winter long.

  1. Jergens Natural Glow Self Tanner Face Lotion 20 SPF

    • Wear your sunscreen! This is especially important during the winter months since the sun’s rays are magnified when reflected by the snow. As cool as it is showing off a goggle tan after a day on the mountain, it is damaging your skin. But never fear - this product does it all. I use it as a base before foundation to add a layer of SPF protection, lightly moisturize without clogging pores, and give a natural glow to my cheeks without sun damage.

    • Tips and tricks: apply evenly to your face each morning (or night if you have dry skin), let dry for a few minutes, then finish applying your make-up. You will slowly build up color so skip a day if you think it’s getting too dark. I use the “medium to tan” shade year-round!

  2. Mayki Pumice Stones

    • The use of pumice stones can be traced all the way back to ancient Greece (just learned this). They are a great way to not only exfoliate your feet but also promote blood circulation, relieve fatigue, and improve sleep.

    • Tips and tricks: store this one in your shower! Let the hot water soften your foot tissue, then gently scrub any rough spots on your feet. You will immediately feel softer, smoother feet.

  3. Aveeno Daily Moisturing Fragrance-Free Body Lotion

    • Nothing fancy here - just a body lotion I like. Use on hands, legs, and back to combat rough skin.

    • Tips and tricks: pat your skin dry and apply lotion after showering to lock in moisture. Bathing not only washes away the natural oils on your skin, but it can actually lead to dry and flaky skin.

  4. Lush Wiccy Magic Muscles Massage Bar

    • This was one of my more exciting finds! When you’ve worked yourself into a pretzel in yoga class or had a long day on the slopes, head home and convince someone to rub this one in. The peppermint and cinnamon oils smell amazing, and you’ll notice the tingly sensation as the bar heats up.

    • Tips and tricks: Melt the bar directly onto dry skin and massage the oils and butters in.

  5. Lush Pink Peppermint Foot Lotion

    • Another favorite Lush product of mine! Slather this on your feet and you'll feel its cooling blend of peppermint and spearmint oil go straight to work as almond oil and fair trade organic cocoa butter give your feet a serious dose of moisture. The pink color is super fun and the smell is ah-maze-ing.

    • Tips and tricks: it’s pretty oily so I typically apply this before bed and then put on socks to let it work it’s magic while I snooze.

  6. Glossier Futuredew Serum

    • An instant dewy glow that lasts. This little bottle contains nourishing oils that will breathe life back into your skin. Use to repair skin that’s been exposed to the wind or cold.

    • Tips and tricks: I have to be careful with serums or my skin gets too oily. I only use this on days when my skin has been exposed to the elements and needs some serious TLC. Complete your nightly skincare routine and finish off with this serum. You’ll notice a healthy glow that will make you question why you even wear make-up. If you have drier skin you can try applying in the morning but I’ll notice my skin getting oily by mid-afternoon so I prefer night application for this one!
